Guindy National Park (2 KM)

Guindy National Park is located at the center of the city with an area of 2.7 sq. km. The park extends from the grounds of Raj Bhavan, the official residence of the Governor of Tamil Nadu. It has a role in both ex-situ and in-situ conservation and is home to 400 blackbucks, 2,000 spotted deers, 24 jackals, a wide variety of tortoises, and over 130 species of birds, 14 species of mammals, over 60 species of butterflies and spiders each. The park attracts more than 700,000 visitors every year.

Theosophical Society (3.4 KM)

Theosophical Society – Adyar is one of the best kept secrets of Madras. This is one of the few sites that boasts greenery in the city. The place is full of heritage rich structures and has a lot of historical significance. A tranquil walk in the early morning through beautiful pathways of the society and resting under the large Banyan tree is a unique experience

St. Thomas Cathedral Basilica, Chennai (8.2 KM)

This church was declared as a National Shrine in 2004 by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India. This church is also called the "National Shrine of Saint Thomas Cathedral Basilica", or as "Santhome Church". It is a very important church for worldwide Christians as it is the tomb of St. Thomas the Apostle. Santhome Basilica has several exciting places to be visited in its vicinity including Marina Beach, Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Velleeswarar Temple, Sai Baba Temple Mylapore, Vivekananda House, Edward Elliot Beach and Gandhi Beach.

VGP Golden Beach and Marine Kingdom (15 KM)

VGP Marine Kingdom, Maritime Empire is the fourth of several kingdoms unveiled by VGP. This is India’s first and largest walk-through aquarium with everything from small to large aquatic animals. The animals here are housed in life-sized tanks and overhead aquariums to give a larger-than-life experience. So welcome to the VGP Marine Kingdom, and while you’re here, don’t forget to meet the sharks. One can experience walk-in aquarium with a 70 Mtr under water tunnel, exotic species from 5 aquatic zones,experience live feeding shows and touch Pool exhibits

Marina Beach, Mylapore (9.8 KM)

Marina beach in Chennai along the Bay of Bengal is India's longest and world's second longest beach. If you’re tired of the scorching heat of Chennai, a day out to the beach might be a good idea. Mahabalipuram (48.5 KM)

Mahabalipuram is a small yet fascinating town in Tamil Nadu which has become one of the top tourist destinations in recent years. The Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram is a collection of 7th- and 8th-century CE religious monuments in the coastal resort town of Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, India and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also called Mamallapuram, Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu holds a major spot in the history of India. It has now become one of the most frequently visited towns in South India and has turned into a tourism centre. Top places to visit in Mahabalipuram are Shore temple, Seashell Museum, Pancha Ratha and light house.

Pondicherry (138 KM)

Pondicherry (or Puducherry), a French colonial settlement in India until 1954, is now a Union Territory town bounded by the southeastern Tamil Nadu state. Its French legacy is preserved in its French Quarter, with tree-lined streets, mustard-colored colonial villas and boutiques. A seaside promenade runs along the Bay of Bengal and passes several statues, including a 4m-high Gandhi Memorial.
