ICOM SUCCESS !

With the closure of ICOM 2023, and before the “post-conference blues” set in, we as the Organizing Committee would like to employ this opportunity to reflect on the journey that we embarked on, almost a year ago. The journey of a conference, from its inception to its ultimate success, is a testament to the collective dedication and hard work of organizers, participants, and stakeholders. The success story of ICOM 2023 exemplifies the power of collaboration, innovation, and a shared passion for knowledge dissemination.

Since the inception of the idea of bringing together a community of academicians, researchers, and industry professionals specifically dedicated to the domain of Micro and Nano fluidics, something that spawned as a brainchild of Prof. Ashis Kumar Sen, we have constantly strived to incorporate as many eminent personalities in the roster of enriching talks. Simultaneously, we aimed at providing a platform for young, budding researchers to present their works and receive progressive (and sometimes, even critical) feedback.

As with any major milestone event, the path was filled with roadblocks. Like any ambitious undertaking, the conference faced its fair share of challenges. Securing funding, attracting high-profile speakers, coordinating logistics, and ensuring widespread participation were just some of the hurdles that needed to be overcome. However, as a group dedicated to the betterment of the scientific community, we strongly believe, “with every crisis, comes an opportunity!” and ICOM 2023 is no different.  We remained steadfast in our commitment to the success of the conference. Today, ICOM 2023 stands as a shining example of what can be achieved when a dedicated team of organizers, passionate participants, and supportive sponsors come together. We hope that the legacy continues to inspire future generations of researchers and conference organizers, setting the bar high for excellence in academia and knowledge exchange. It demonstrates that with vision, perseverance, and a commitment to fostering collaboration, a conference can transcend its initial goals and become a catalyst for positive change in the world.

We would like to extend our gratitude to every single member who has helped us in treading this uphill journey. Most importantly, we would like to thank our interesting lineup of esteemed invited speakers, who have graced us with their presence and enlightened us with their thought-provoking sessions. Equally rewarding was the participation of the faculties and postdoctoral researchers from a multitude of institutions across the country and beyond, who served as evaluators for the screening of submitted abstracts and as Session Chairs who facilitated the progression of the conference. Last, but not the least, we would like to thank the student participants who have come forward to present their enriching works and have acted as a source of revitalization, providing newer avenues and perspectives.

Bidding adieu to ICOM 2023, and looking forward to the future.

                                                                                          Warm regards.
                                                                            ICOM Organizing Committee
